The Year 10 program at Mount Erin is designed to fully prepare students for their future pathways. Students have the ability to select from a range of quality electives that enable them to dig deeper into both the things that they are good at and those that will support them to move into their final years of secondary school.
Most Year 10 students will participate in the regular Year 10 program.
The regular program will includes the following compulsory selections:
- English
- Either General or Enhanced Maths
- A Semester of Humanities CORE
-1 X Semester of a Humanities elective
- A year of Science CORE (in which students can choose two topic options; Engineering, Sport & Exercise Science, Cosmetology, Health Science or Environmental Science ~ one per semester)
- A Semester of a Health / PE elective
Students will also select three Semester based electives from a range of subject areas. Unless stated, students can select electives from any subject area.
Selected Year 10 students will have the opportunity to participate in an Early Access Year 10 program, however, this limits the amount of Year 10 electives a student may undertake.
Students are unable to gain Early Access to:
English
Foundation Maths
General Maths
Maths Methods
Specialist Maths
Chemistry
Physics
Students may apply to accelerate in any other available subject, including the two VET courses offered at Mount Erin College* (VET Music, and VET Building & Construction).
