BACK TO SCHOOL SEPTEMBER 25
PLEASE BE SURE TO READ THE INFORMATION BELOW
I would like to wish you all a warm welcome back to our school for the 25-26 school year. Whether you are a new family joining us for the first time or an existing family returning to us I hope you will find the information below both useful and relevant.
The most important element of the return to school is ensuring that all of the young people in our care feel welcomed, happy and confident on their return. This is about having the right information, knowing where to go if there are problems and being surrounded by positive people who look to welcome, support and engage. This is the responsibility of all of us here in our community.
Communication is a key part of a successful school so it is worth me mentioning how we communicate information to you in this first message. The Parent Room is the best place to go for basic information about the school. It is regularly updated and and should be a place that all parents make themselves familiar with. The Parent Room is always available and can probably answer a great many of your questions. Please use it!
Each Friday afternoon all parents, students and teachers receive The Learning Curve newsletter. This provides important updates regarding school matters as well as celebrations of student achievement and some think pieces on schooling and education.
These two vehicles are in place to make sure you do not receive a huge amount of emails from the school. Whilst from time to time we will need to send some extraordinary communication but this will be the exception rather than the rule.
Finally, a quick word on our uniform and a reminder that it is an expectation for students to come to school wearing it. We appreciate your full support in this. More details can be found below and on the dedicated uniform page on this site.
I am greatly looking forward to continuing to develop and improve our wonderful school whilst further leveraging our existing strengths. It will be another exciting year.
We can't wait to see you all.
I'll see you all soon,
James Wellings

Primary School (Year 1 - Year 6)
Dear Primary Parents,
I would like to warmly welcome you back to school and hope that you have all had a restful holiday
Here in the Primary School our aspirations are for all our children to begin their school journey that will see them fulfill their academic potential and become successful lifelong learners. We make it a point to recognise in each pupil what makes them unique, to acknowledge their many talents, to foster their advancements towards building self-confidence and global awareness. We focus on preparing them to grow as engaged citizens, along with empowering them to become effective and successful in every initiative they may endeavour.
It is our passion to promote student creativity, flexibility, and critical thinking. We strive always to support their intuition and resilience, nurture their empathy and courage so they may develop independent thinking and understand the utmost importance of tolerance and collectiveness. It is important to us that our children possess high levels of both social and emotional intelligence so that they are well placed to succeed and thrive in the future, becoming active and productive members of our community.
Our staff are dedicated, hardworking and experienced. We provide a safe, calm and caring atmosphere in school and foster a hardworking ethos based on an enjoyment of learning. We are pleased to also offer a varied selection of enrichment and enhancement opportunities. We are very proud of our reputation as a warm, welcoming, family school.
We recognise that parents play an important role in the education of their children and as such, we welcome your support and co-operation in making your child’s time at school enjoyable. We are fortunate to have a very active Parent Teacher Association and encourage parents and carers to be involved in all aspects of school life or to discuss any concerns or issues with us. Please call at any time to make an appointment to see either myself or my team – all members of staff will value discussing any aspect of your child’s education and general welfare.
We are all looking forward to this new school year and to working with you and your children.

Secondary School (Year 7 - Year 13)
Dear Secondary Parents,
I trust you have all enjoyed a wonderful summer break and are beginning to ready yourself for a new school term, a new set of challenges, and a new chance to reflect and build on the momentum of the past year.
Roald Dahl had it that 'a life is made up of a great number of small incidents and a small number of great ones.'
My hope each year is that we can add to the number of great moments whilst enjoying more and more fully the smaller moments that make up our days.
Importantly, we do this work together.
Whether it is in our greetings to one another in the morning, at drop-off, as we walk through school, or in the kindness and consideration we extend to each other throughout our lessons and Thrive activities.
I know that our school is a special place and space. Not simply due to its inspiring natural setting but because of the people who take time each day to work together to create genuinely meaningful learning, relationships, and connections with our community.
As we start each new year, the challenges and opportunities ahead of us are exciting and take many forms.
New approaches in lessons, our timetables, our expanding THRIVE opportunities and further sporting and The Journey programmes will continue to underpin how our students and community can best come together to make meaningful progress.
It will be a joy to welcome you for the first time and/or welcome you back to school.
Please make sure you return to school with the will to continue to relish the chance to be better each and every day. We will delighted to see you and will support you every step of your way.
With best wishes for a wonderful 2025-26.
Mr Paul Michael
Head of Secondary School
