Welcome to the Primary School
In our Primary School we recognise every student as an individual who brings a unique combination of experience, attitude and abilities. Our passion and focus is to provide a nurturing environment that begins the journey towards a love of lifelong learning.

Starting in The LaunchPad (our Early Years Centre) children are introduced to a wonderful hands-on environment that tailors the learning specifically to each child's interests. We follow the English Early Years Foundation Stage framework (EYFS) which sets standards for the learning, development and care of children up to 5 years old. Children quickly begin to feel comfortable and ready to learn due to the specialist care of our dedicated and passionate staff. They provide a wonderful safe and secure area with a welcoming atmosphere. Parents can conveniently drop off at the door and be confident that their children are in a secure place. Early Years pupils enjoy delicious, locally-sourced, organic hot meals cooked on-site. Pupils eat in their own class with peers, enjoying the social side of eating together, as well as being sated and ready for the activities ahead. We have a quiet space with specially designed mattresses for nap time, where children are invited to bring their own blankets to help with feeling secure and relaxed. We believe that parents are the people who know their children best, hence we value our partnership with home in determining ways to support each child to ensure they reach their true potential.
As they continue in Primary, we recognise that many children within the school will be new to English and most are living in a new country away from family - this makes school an important place of security for our children. Experienced and dedicated teachers strive to build a caring community within their classrooms as well as throughout the school, and it becomes a secure place where the children can learn to be part of a group while developing a positive self-identity. Children have every resource they need to enjoy their work and to maximise their learning. Developing understanding in English is crucial to us and committed staff are supported by a whole school inclusion team. We work hard to develop early English speaking skills to ensure that children can access the curriculum as soon as possible. Regular assessments and feedback are crucial in monitoring progress towards this.
Our learning is based upon the English National Curriculum and we expertly combine this with an international awareness to provide wonderful, enquiry based experiences to enhance the learning throughout the Primary school. Staff work hard to integrate children into a British school with a global perspective so that they can access the broader world. This also allows the teachers to comfortably assess the children based on the global standards to aid with transitions to other international establishments. We celebrate all cultures, modelling a celebration of different backgrounds and learning about the world.
Children are taught by specialist teachers in Music and French throughout primary and in sports in KS2. Opportunities are also available to complement music skills with private lessons for specific instruments offered from age 4.
Technology is used as a support and enhancement of learning, rather than a lead for learning. Currently Interactive whiteboards in all primary classes support and complement teaching. Further exciting developments in line with emerging technologies and educational advancements will promote skills for use in a modern, evolving learning environment. We are committed to providing this balanced approach towards learning in an ever changing and developing world. Through many STEAM based activities children can explore and experience this world through a more practical, physical and critical thinking approach from the early stages of education to inspire dialogue and make new discoveries.
Within the stunning school surroundings we all love to see our children happy and engaged in the joy of learning.
