Our Conductor/Instructor, Mr Edward Chua, is a music teacher, educator, and the Music Principal of Music Delight School. As the founder and leader of the organisation, he is dedicated to making music learning both fun and inspiring for students. He fosters students’ interest by selecting songs that engage them, encourages them to take the initiative to learn, and motivates them to extend their learning beyond the classroom. He has been with RVGE (JC) since 2014 and has consistently brought the group to perform at its best!

RVHS values:
Pursuit of Excellence — 追求卓越
Perseverance — 奋发图强
NO prior experience is required; we value your devotion and drive more!
If you put in the effort, you will not fall behind, so don't worry! Just come and join the fun!
In fact, most of our current members joined the CCA with no prior experience. We also have very patient and talented teachers, Conductor and our very own Student Conductor, who are more than willing to help you.
RVHS values:
People‑centricity (Respect/Empathy) — 以人为本
Proactiveness (Responsibility/Initiative) — 自立自发
While our teachers don’t enforce us practice outside of CCA hours, most of us enjoy doing so. As the saying goes, “Practice makes perfect!”—practising on your own helps you feel confident and ready to contribute during ensemble sessions. “Practice Tips" we’ve learned during the lesson; every day for 10–15 minutes, beats doing long hours of practice all at once!
At the JC level, we only have one CCA day per week, so we really treasure the time we spend together creating and playing music, which is far more fun and rewarding than doing isolated skill exercises alone!
There are usually NO CCA sessions during the holidays, unless there is a special event that requires our participation, such as a school event, exchange programme, ensemble exam, or SYF.
If there isn’t a session, our conductor will provide the necessary practice work or pieces, along with online video support, for us to go through on our own time. Since members usually practise regularly at home, fewer in-person CCA sessions are needed. For those who are motivated, you can also film and upload your practice progress video during the holiday, and our teachers and conductor will provide helpful feedback.
This approach allows everyone to stay on track while keeping the holiday schedule relaxed—especially knowing that many of you are JC students with other commitments.
Joining RVGE gives you the chance to explore a range of styles and instruments while having fun making music together.
We have experience with a variety of instruments:
Niibori guitars from Soprano, Alto, Prime & Contrabass guitars
Acoustic/Bass guitars
Cajon
Keyboard
Singing
Our Conductor and teachers guide/pick & choose pieces across a wide range of genres with us, including:
Classical: Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods
Pop: K-pop, J-pop, C-pop, Western classic rock and film music, the latest pop hits, and even country-western tunes!
Fingerstyle Guitar: Techniques like tapping, hammer-ons/pull-offs, and sliding
