Homecoming Pre-Covid with Alumni!
We are a team of passionate athletes that enjoy the sport! Training is never draining because we have a robust peer support system. You will find yourself surrounded with laughter and joy in training because we believe that while training should be taken seriously, we can always add an element of fun in our training!
Mondays (3.30pm-6.30pm), Wednesdays (3:30pm-6.30pm)
Location: Table Tennis room (Block F Level 4)
Matches will be played in a best-of-five format, with each round played to 11 points. In the event of a deuce (10-10), the first player to achieve a two-point lead will win the game. Each team competition consists of three singles matches and two doubles matches, played alternately.
To win a point, you must hit the ball such that it lands on your opponent’s side of the table and your opponent failing to return the ball to your side of the table.
In doubles, there is an additional rule that requires teammates to alternate their hits. Regarding service, it must be delivered diagonally from the right half of the table to the opponent’s side.
The duration of a game may vary, as matches can range from three to five games, with some potentially reaching a deuce score of 16-16 or beyond. On average, each match lasts between 20 and 40 minutes.
Unlike many other sports, table tennis is primarily an individual or doubles sport which works towards team-based goals.
However, there are various playing styles (e.g., defensive, offensive) and different types of rubbers designed to meet the needs of players. For instance, short, medium, and long pimple rubbers each offer distinct advantages and are specialized for different aspects of attack and defense.
This combination of factors makes table tennis a unique sport that demands excellent hand-eye coordination, quick reaction times, and the ability to adapt to different playing styles.
Seven players are required to play, but up to fifteen individuals may be registered (a minimum of eight to register), allowing for rotation in the selection of players.

Yes! Usually on the first few / last few weeks of holiday.
Yes, however you will have to balance your commitments along with schoolwork wisely. There’s not much point in joining the CCA without being able to commit as you will lose out a lot on the experience.
