Hey J1s! We are a JC CCA who are passionate about the outdoors and exploration! We aim to develop one's personal growth and holistic development through the Scouting method of learning by doing. We focus on teaching important life skills which Ventures can apply in the future, like first aid, camping and hiking competencies.
Furthermore, as our Unit is part of the West Area, in addition to activities we have, Ventures have the chance to visit other Units from other schools in the West Area District during Area Events, like campfires and games, allowing Ventures to experience different Troops' cultures.
As a part of the Ventures Progress Scheme, Venture Scouts who join us will take part in a Journey of self-development, leadership and outdoor adventure. Look forward to a fruitful and extremely fun filled journey with your fellow venture scouts!
The President Scouts Award
The President's Scout Award (PSA) is the highest award for Venture Scouts in Singapore. The PSA represents the pinnacle of achievement for Venture Scouts as well as heralds their readiness to further their commitment to serve God, Nation, and the Community.
The PSA consists of 3 major components throughout a Venture Scout’s journey: The SnF, VCC or 21 Day OBS and VSSP. Upon completion of the components, Venture Scouts are then invited to the Istana for an annual ceremony, where all President Scout Awardees are presented with the PSA by the President of Singapore.

Pioneer Exploration Assessment
Venture Scouts are to undergo an Exploration Assessment as part of their PSA journey. During the test, they will be challenged both physically and mentally on their resilience and leadership qualities.
Through the PEA, Venture Scouts are able to reconnect with nature and history as they hike through areas never before seen in Singapore
Skills and Fundamentals
The SnF Assessment is a prerequisite for participants attempting the Venturing Challenge Course (VCC). Candidates will need to fulfil the course requirements and will be assessed on their core Scouting skills.
Through SnF, participants will be intensively examnined on their leadership qualities, Scouting skills and resilience.
Venture Challenge Course
The VCC is a residential, outdoors activity-based, leadership assessment conducted by the Venture Scout Programme Council. Venture Scouts will be assessed on their leadership, teamwork and demonstrate above average level of proficiency in the area of Adventure and Outdoors. In addition, they are required to demonstrate self-reliance, initiative, responsibility, fitness and exemplary level in fulfilling the Scout Promise and Law.
The VCC comprises a range of activities to assess the skills and areas of personal growth (SPICES) that a PSA candidate should possess.
Candidates will be evaluated on their leadership skill and teamwork, and they will need to demonstrate above average proficiency in outdoor and adventure including self-reliance, initiative, responsibility, fitness as well as an exemplary level in the fulfilment of the Scout Promise and Law.
Upon Completion, Ventures Scouts will achieve the Chief Scout's Award and is ready to achieve the PSA.
The Venture Scout Training Syllabus
The Venture Scout Training Syllabus is an initiative started by the batch of 2022 and 2023 Ventures. The document aims to instill key and fundamental Venturing skills as well as provide aspiring PSA awardees with sufficient information to pursue the prestigious award.
The Venture Scout Service Project
The VSSP serves a dual role. It is a learning experience and also the culmination of your Venturing / Scouting life. The Project must be one that is meaningful and has benefits to the community at large. This will serve as the final major mile stone for Venture Scouts.
The VSSP is a 1-year long project: planning and execution. Venture Scouts will go through a robust and rigorous journey throughout the project, culminating in the President's Scout Award.
Venture Scouts who do not wish to pursue PSA can also take part in VSSP, as its importance is one that promotes communal service.
