WHO WE ARE

Hey J1s! We are a JC CCA that is passionate about outdoors, exploration and cooking! Lovingly known as RV's outdoor cooking club, we aim to develop one's personal growth through the Scouting method of learning by doing. We teach skills which YOU can apply in the future such as first aid, camping and more!

As part of the West Area family, we are given the chance to visit and collaborate with Units from other schools during Area and National Events, such as campfire, games and Jamborees, allowing us to experience cultures from different troops :)

As part of the Venture Progress Scheme, Ventures will embark on a journey of self-development, service, leadership and adventure which you will proudly call your own! Join us for a fruitful, fun and delicious time here in the outdoor cooking club! aka Ventures!

The Venture Scout Progress Scheme

The President Scouts Award

The President's Scout Award (PSA) is the highest award for Venture Scouts in Singapore. The PSA represents the pinnacle of achievement for Venture Scouts as well as heralds their readiness to further their commitment to serve God, Nation, and the Community.

The PSA consists of 3 major components throughout a Venture Scout’s journey: The SnF, VCC or 21 Day OBS and VSSP. Upon completion of the components, Venture Scouts are then invited to the Istana for an annual ceremony, where all President Scout Awardees are presented with the PSA by the President of Singapore.

Venture Foundation Course

VFC is a compulsory 2D1N residential course for new Ventures to equip them with the essential skills for Venturing.

The courses include a initial day course on key scouting values or skills. Followed by a 2D1N residential camp at Sarimbun campsite, the home of Scouts.

Meet new friends and forge new bonds with Ventures all over West area, whilst instilling in yourself values and skills required for a Venture Scout.

Venture Challenge Course

(non-compulsory)

The VCC is a residential, outdoors activity-based, leadership assessment conducted by the Venture Scout Programme Council. Venture Scouts will be assessed on their leadership, teamwork and demonstrate above average level of proficiency in the area of Adventure and Outdoors. In addition, they are required to demonstrate self-reliance, initiative, responsibility, fitness and exemplary level in fulfilling the Scout Promise and Law.

Upon Completion, Ventures Scouts will achieve the Chief Scout's Award and is ready to pursue VSSP.

The Venture Scout Service Project

The VSSP serves a dual role. It is a learning experience and also the culmination of your Venturing / Scouting life. The Project must be one that is meaningful and has benefits to the community at large. This will serve as the final major mile stone for Venture Scouts.

The VSSP is a 1-year long project: planning and execution. Venture Scouts will go through a robust and rigorous journey throughout the project, culminating in the President's Scout Award.

Venture Scouts who do not wish to pursue PSA can also take part in VSSP, as its importance is one that promotes communal service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I join Ventures?

Ventures is a fun and stress-free CCA that allows us to take a break during our hectic JC life. CCA sessions mostly involve cooking, building simple structures or play games in general, so come by for a good time!

Can I join despite concurrently joining other CCAs?

Yes, you can choose to have a second CCA, if you are able to cope with other academic and non-academic commitments. However, you are discouraged to join if you already have another CCA that clashes with Venture Scouts, which usually falls on Mondays.

Can I join despite being female?

Yes! Unlike Scouts, which is offered to Secondary 1 - 4 boys only, Venture Scouts is offered to all JC students, regardless of gender!

Are there any prerequisites to join?
