Guitar Ensemble (jc)

NO prior experience is required, we value your devotion and drive more! 

In fact, most of our current members joined the CCA with no prior experience. We also have very patient and talented teachers, Conductor and our very own Student Conductor, who are more than willing to help you. 

If you put in the effort, you will not fall behind, so don't worry! Just come and join the fun! 

There are usually no CCA sessions, unless there is a special event we need to be engaged, such as School Exchange Programmes, Guitar ensemble exam or Singapore Youth Festival. However, we are required to film a set of simple songs and upload our progressive practice videos online across the holiday for our teachers and conductor to check on our progress. These videos are filmed according to our individual learning pace or ensemble parts, so most of us feel very relaxed when doing it. 

While our teachers do not enforce that we practise outside CCA hours, most of us do so. As the saying goes, “Practice makes perfect!”, we often practise in our own time to ensure that we are able to perform up to standard during ensemble practice. Besides, at the JC level, we only have one CCA day per week, and we greatly treasure the time to learn together every session. 

We play Guitar music from many genres, ranging from 

• Classical pieces,

• Pop, (Kpop, Jpop, Chinese, etc.)

• Fingerstyle 

• to even Rock and other country tunes!

We even learn Niibori Guitars, such as Soprano, Alto and Contrabass guitars. We also learn about steel string (aka acoustic guitar), bass guitar, cajon, Keyboard and singing!
