The Highly Immersive Programme (HIP) is a programme introduced under the MBMMBI policy. HIP is aligned with student aspirations in the Malaysia Education Blueprint (MEB) 2013-2025 and supports five shifts of the MEB as follows:
Providing equal access to quality education of an international standard.
Ensuring every child is proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English Language and is encouraged to learn an additional language.
Developing values-driven Malaysians.
Establishing partnership with parents, community and private sector.
Empowering JPNs, PPDs and schools to customize solutions based on needs.
HIP also reinforces the 1999 circular which states that all schools should implement English language support activities for students to increase students’ exposure to the English language.
Create a rich English language learning environment in schools
Increase contact time for English language use
Strengthen the command of the English language among students
This program is a HIP outreach program aimed at encouraging the use of English among students outside the classroom by combining exposure to the culture of 14 selected countries from around the world. This program is also in line with the School Transformation Program (TS25) which outlines project-based learning as one of the methods to improve student achievement. In addition, participating schools can also establish cooperative relationships through this program. Sk St John 1 has been selected with other 13 schools in Kuala Lumpur to participate in this competition.
