Quizizz:
Based on the rubric that was created for this assessment I had 8 students meet the standard, 5 students partially meet the standard, and 4 students did not meet the standard. For this assignment not meeting the standard meant that students didn't attempt the assignment, but with the remote learning that has been in place some students have had the difficulty of doing assignments at home. I was pleased to have 8 students meet the standard for the specific assignment, and showed me that about the half the class was showing understanding of the content covered, and 5 students were close to meeting the standard. With this assessment it was very specific to the direct instruction we had in class so it showed me students responded positively to the direct instruction that was done during class.
Random Penguins:
Based on the directions for this assessment I had 8 students meet the standard, 5 students partially meet the standard, and 4 students who did not meet the standard. For this assignment to meet the standard students had to finish this Desmos activity and to attempt all of the problems in the activity. For a partially meets student had to attempt the activity, but not finish the activity and all of the problems. For students who did not meet the standard they did not attempt this activity, and because of the remote learning some of the students may not attempt this activity. This specific formative assessment was assessing students on the second part of the standard, and having the ability of identifying the population and sample size as long will gaining more information about the specific questions. These results showed me some similar results from my first summative assessment, so it was good to see that students were keeping track with the learning. There were some students who were struggling, and I took that note to try to meet the needs of all of my students.
Notebook Check:
For the notebook check I had 13 students who were able to meet the standard, and 4 students partially meet the standard. For students to meet the standard for this assessment they needed to have written all of the required information from our direct instruction in class. For students who partially met the standard they only had part of the notes required and were missing certain aspects of their notes. For students who did not meet the standard they had no notes from class that they were required to have during the lesson. While doing a notebook check I felt these two classes of notes were very important for students to have recorded down. My goal was to create a routine where students felt comfortable taking notes during class. This assessment showed me students were involved in their own learning by writing down key terms and different examples we had discussed during class.
For my pre-assessment I gave students a google forum where they would respond to different question assessing how much content knowledge they had at the beginning of the less. They were only assessed on the first half of the google forum, because the second half was related to the next statistic standard we were going to be learning about in class. The rubric for which they were assessed on is attached in my plan for assessment. I had only 3 students meet the standard, 9 students partially meet the standard, and 5 students not meet the standard. These results showed me that students had little to no background knowledge on the content we were going to be covering in this unit. I was able to use this feedback to set a plan for my direct instruction and other formative assessments.
For my summative assessment students had to create a survey to give to their peers and then fill out a survey reflection answering questions specific to learning targets and the standard for the unit. I used the same rubric used during my pre-assessment to assess my students for their summative assessment, it was modified slightly due to the specific assignment, but the standard and learning targets all stayed the same. I had 8 students meet the standard, 6 students partially meet the standard, and 3 students not meet the standard. I was pleased with the improvement of my students from the beginning of the unit all the way till the end. Based on the feedback I noticed many students showed more understanding of the material covered in the unit by the summative assessment. Students were able to meet the learning targets, and show their ability to create and implement a survey within their class. Students showing growth throughout the unit was pleasing to see, and students improving along the way. Comparing the results based on the rubric was beneficial to see and will definitely play a role in future units I create.
