The teacher draws upon knowledge of content areas, cross-disciplinary skills, learners, the community, and pedagogy to plan instruction that supports every student in meeting rigorous learning goals.
This means that the teacher is able to plan for instruction based on all of the needs of their students and draws from content knowledge to develop dynamic lesson plans
Indicator 7b: Plans how to achieve student learning goals, choosing appropriate strategies and accommodations, resources and materials to differentiate instruction for individuals and groups of learners.
Rationale:
This artifact is my design for instruction for my teacher work sample. In my design for instruction you will find 5 lesson plans and examples of students work. Based on my lesson plans I went through the process of creating and implementing lessons that will meet the needs of all of my students. Attached with all of my lessons are learning targets that are connected with the different material we have discussed in class.
This artifact meets the standard because throughout my unit, I planned all of my instruction out while looking for whats best for my students. With the change to remote learning my design for instruction had to change during the unit, so I had to get creative during this process. The indicator above is a great representation for this artifact because for this unit, I modified my lessons and made accommodations for the students who needed it. I made sure my learning targets for every lesson were connected to what we were learning, and overall creating a safe learning environment for students. Overall my design for instruction for my teacher work sample meets the standard of planning for instruction.
Indicator 7a: Individually and collaboratively selects and creates learning experiences that are appropriate for curriculum goals and content standards, and are relevant to learners.
Rationale:
This artifact was the calendar I used to collaborate with my mentor teacher when it came to planning. Each day is marked with either a blue or gold day which would tell us what classes we had that certain day. We would link the lesson plan and any other materials for that specific lesson on that day so we could keep track of all of the lesson plans, and assessments.
This artifact meets the standard for planning for instruction because this shows part of the process that takes place when planning for all of your classes. With 4 different classes and over 80 students it was important for me to keep track of all lesson plans and assessments for students, and this calendar was able to help me to do so. The indicator above is a great representation of this artifact because it shows how the teach was able to collaborate with colleagues and create learning experiences that aligned with the curriculum and and content standard. Overall this artifact meets the standard for planning for instruction because it shows the process of planning and organization that teachers need to have in the classroom.
