The teacher understands and uses multiple methods of assessment to engage learners in their own growth, to document learner progress, and to guide the teacher’s on-going planning and instruction.
This means that the teacher is able to use assessments in their classroom to track students learning, and use these assessments to build their plan for instruction.
Indicator 6r: Takes responsibility for aligning instruction and assessment with learning goals.
Rationale:
This artifact is the summative assessment for my teacher work sample on statistic. After students created their own survey, and implemented their were asked to fill out this reflection based on the data they collected. Their were certain requirements students need to meet and this reflection asks students to talk about everything that we had learned during this unit. With the move to remote learning this survey reflection did have to modified to meet the needs of my students.
This artifact meets the standard because this uses the assessment tool in my unit, to see if students were able to to meet the standard by the end of the unit. With other assessments I was able to track students learning during the unit, and then from their i was able to modify my survey reflection to meet the needs of my students and give them the best chance to meet the statistic standard. The indicator above is a great representation of this artifact because this survey is aligned to the learning targets throughout the unit as well as the instruction that students received during the unit. Overall this artifact meets the standard of assessment because the teacher is able to create an assessment that meets the needs of all students and is modified based on the instruction and learning targets throughout the unit.
Indicator 6b: Designs assessments that much learning objectives with assessment methods and minimizes sources of bias that can distort assessment results.
Rationale:
This artifact is my assessment plan for my unit. In the document above you can see all of the different assessments that students had during this unit, and the different types of assessments they were. I used these assessments to track students learning throughout the unit and see where students started and where the ended with the learning. My goal with the assessment plan was to see growth from my students from beginning and end of the unit.
This artifact meets the standard because the teacher is able to use multiple forms of assessments throughout this unit to engage learners. Assessments are a great tool to have because the teacher is able to track each students learning for growth. My assessment plan is built to be able to do the same thing, and hopefully my students are able to grow their knowledge during this unit. My assessment plan also offers a variety in the type of assessment I give to students which is also very important. The indicator above is a great representation of my artifact because all of the assessments I implemented were aligned with the learning targets from that day. Having clear objectives and learning targets is something I find very important and try to have in every lesson. Overall this artifact meets the standard of assessment because the teacher is able to show that they are dynamic in the way the implement assessments in their classroom and assess their students.
