Google Drive
WHAT IS GOOGLE DRIVE?
Similar to your computer drive, but with superpowers
A place to store and share all your files including documents, spreadsheets, presentations, images, videos, etc.
Accessible from anywhere, anytime on any device.
Edit & collaborate in real-time
Eliminates multiple copies of the same file
Automatic file syncing (Google Drive checks in to make sure it has the most current, up-to-date version of a file.)
Not only can you access all of your files on the web, you also have the option to install Google Drive on your laptop/PC so you can have access to all of your files through the file explorer. This makes it much easier to save, organize, attach, share and access all of your files stored in Google Drive.
Organizing Your Google Drive
There are multiple ways to organize your Google Drive. Your best bet is to start today with organizing new files and then work backward, a little bit at a time, to sort through files that need to be organized. Create folders to make it easier to find what you are looking for.

Force a Copy of a Drive File
A force copy link automatically makes a copy of a file when a user clicks on the link. It’ll add it to their Google Drive so they can edit it – without altering the original copy. Of course, in Google Classroom, you can also create a copy for each student through assignments, but you may want to know this handy trick for creating choice boards, hyperdocs, etc.
How to Create a Force Copy Link
Open the file in your Google Drive.
Click Share.
Click “Anyone with the link can view”
Copy the link.
Highlight the word edit and everything after it.
Replace that selection with the word “copy” (see animated gif below)
Copy and paste the new link wherever you need it; in an email, on a website, in a presentation, etc.
