Impero Education Pro
(For teachers grades 4-12 only)
Impero empowers teachers with classroom control features for district issued laptops to improve digital learning, all within a simple-to-use, web-based interface designed specifically for teachers. This is an excellent tool to add to your classroom management toolbelt to help students stay focused during lesson instruction. The cloud-based interface is automatically synced with your classes in Realtime. Some capabilities include:
Multi-device monitoring - Screen broadcasting - Lock screen - Manage website access
If you are missing any classes, or if students do not appear in your class list, kindly send an email to mahwahtech@mahwah.k12.nj.us including the classes and/or names of students that do not appear. NOTE: Student devices are only monitored during school hours and Impero only monitors activity on district issued devices.
To get started with Impero:
Login with Microsoft or Google.
Click MENU > CLASSROOM
TIPS
Add the Impero Cloud Extension to Chrome from the Mahwah Chrome Store to have access to screen broadcasting
Use the ACTIVE LESSON in conjunction with the ALLOWED LIST to create your own version of a locked down browser. Set your active lesson to end no later than the end of your class so all restrictions are removed when students move on to the next class.
Do NOT use the 'disable internet' feature if you have students connecting via Zoom. The connection will be lost.
Use wildcards (*) to add sites to the BLOCKED LIST. ex: If you want to be sure your students to not go on YouTube during your class enter *youtube* under blocked websites.
When in live view, click on a student screen to take a closer look at the tabs that are open. Click on a tab to either bring FOCUS to a tab or CLOSE tabs that should not be open.
