We are excited to announce the launch of our new ebook and audiobook resource called Sora! This is a great way for students to find new books to read on a phone, a tablet , or through a web browser on a computer. The students can choose from over 300 books. We have also worked it out with the Mahwah Public Library that students are able to access their collection WITHOUT needing a public library card! If you have recommendations of ebooks you would like to have available, contact your building Media Specialist. To access Sora, you may download the app called “Sora, by OverDrive” or use the website soraapp.com/library/mahwahnj . Students will log into Sora using their Mahwah email address and password. Use the buttons below to access Sora, download the app, or browse resources for getting started. Scroll down for an instructional video prepared by your building Media Specialist.
UPDATE: Mahwah Public Library Connection
Although the video instructions say that Mahwah students can access Mahwah Public Library materials through Sora by logging in with their Mahwah usernames and passwords, recent changes require students to connect using their Mahwah Public Library card number instead.
While logged into Sora, students have the option to “add a library.” Enter BCCLS (Bergen County Cooperative Library System) and enter the number on the back of your Mahwah library card.
Filter levels should still apply, so students will be limited to materials appropriate to their age level.
And, as always, all Mahwah students have access to the wonderful materials purchased by our school Media Centers just by logging in with their Mahwah usernames and passwords. If you’d like to request a certain title, reach out to your school’s Library Media Specialist!
