Hello, my name is Chloe and I am an undergraduate from Denton, Texas. I am currently pursuing a degree in Biology and Community and Global Health. In my free time, I love cooking, dancing, and swimming!

"Global cities across the world are each trying to show that they are more stable, more secure, and less afflicted by Corona so that they can secure the confidence of foreign investors or potential tourists. It explains more clearly why Trump chose to deny the severity of COVID for so long, why he tried so hard to put on a brave face while sick; he was afraid that America would be perceived as weak." "There is also an equity problem regarding the privilege of staying home or keeping a bubble during the corona crisis. People who can’t afford to stay home are obviously unable to quarantine. In the same way, many of our essential workers don’t have the option to limit their contact to a small bubble. Emergency health staff are a well known example, but there are still many employees (i.e. waiters, drivers, and mechanics/plumbers) who have to have contact with a significant amount of customers a day." "History should have been analyzed more thoroughly, especially early on in the pandemic. After decades of globalization, land use change, and exponential population growth, it's clear that a situation like this was due. SARS and MERS were warning signs, and people have long predicted another spillover with effects of this magnitude." (December 4)
