TweenTribune is a free, not-for-profit online newspaper for kids, aged 8–15. It is updated daily with stories from the Associated Press that are chosen based on relevancy to pre-adolescents. It features topics about animals, fashion, entertainment, school, science, technology, national and world news. A newspaper by kids and professional journalists.

Newsela is a popular service that aims to help teachers find current events articles that are appropriate for their students' age and reading abilities. Newsela provides teachers, parents, and students with over 1,000 current event articles scaled at five different Lexile reading comprehension levels. Students read articles covering a wide array of topics then complete accompanying Common Core-aligned quizzes. Teachers have the ability to assign articles and monitor student progress through the Newsela Binder feature. A large portion of Newsela’s offerings are free for users, however, schools and districts may opt for additional features through Newsela PRO, a paid subscription.   • 2. Daily Best of the Web is an excerpt from The Wall Street Journal’s “Best of the Web” posting.
  • 3. Tuesday’s World Events are three short news stories from around the world.
  • 4. Wednesday’s Example of Media Bias is a weekly example of biased news reporting.
  • 5. Thursday’s Editorial is a weekly opinion article from the web. Questions asking students to explain their opinion or reaction are found below the article.
  • 6. Finally, to round-out the week, we provide Friday’s News Quiz, a 10 question multiple choice or true/false quiz with questions relating to the week’s five “Daily News Articles
