Kami - What is it? - How Do I use it?

Kami is an online document annotation and markup tool. You can highlight, underline, and strikethrough text in PDF and other document formats. You can also add text boxes, shapes, and images. Kami works with Google Drive and Google Classroom. With Kami, you can easily collaborate on documents in the classroom.

We have pushed out the Kami extention to any Longmeadow-issued Chromebooks, as well as Chrome browsers running on Macs where the user is signed into Chrome using their Longmeadow account.

So, take a look, Kami may already be installed!

Students enjoy annotating text and editing documents using Kami. With the kid-friendly app, students can annotate on ebooks, publisher-supplied PDFs, worksheets and more.

Kami allows them to draw freely and annotate with a selection of colors, shapes and text sizes. Students can easily complete tasks and save files with Kami's Google Classroom integration.

Teachers can markup, discuss and provide feedback using Kami's text, audio, and video annotation tools. These collaborative tools encourage active, real-time participation in the classroom.

If Kami was not installed automatically, simply install it using the steps below


To open from Google Drive, you will want to connect Kami to your Drive.You can connect Kami by following these steps:1. Go to drive.google.com2. Right click (on a mac you can Control, click)  on a PDF file3. Hover over Open with4. Select Connect more apps5. Search for Kami and select Connect
4. Select Connect more apps5. Search for Kami and select Connect or Install.
This is what they should see if they installed it correctly.
