Presentation Tools and Creating Newsletters

Animation-ish

An easy-to-use animation program by Fablevision.

Animation-ish includes three levels that provide students and teachers from K-12 with a fun, rewarding experience that fosters the ability to animate across the curriculum with confidence.

  • Wiggledoodle-ish provides a simple set of tools to draw, trace, and animate in just three frames. You can also import and trace any graphic. Creative and fun!
  • Flipbook-ish includes an infinite number of frames so you can create longer animations that teach more substantial content.
  • Advanced-ish allows for more complex animations using a foreground, background, and a mover tool that enables fluid movement of objects across the screen.

Google Slide Randomizer

Change up a classroom presentation. The OTT-omatic Slide Randomizer is a simple add-on that allows one to easily and randomly reorder any slide deck. When used, the presentation will be quickly and efficiently randomized. Users can choose to randomize all slides or can keep the Title Slide if desired.

Play Posit

Play Posit is for the more advanced technology-using teacher. In addition to questions, teachers can insert text, images, and hyperlinks into videos imported from YouTube, TeacherTube, and other websites. Play Posit also includes a variety of analytical tools that allow teachers to monitor both student performance and the time students spent viewing the content. Though Play Posit might be a bit more sophisticated than other similar tools, its benefits can potentially pay off in the long run. Click the link to learn more about Play Posit. Basic program is free.

Thinglink

An interactive mind map. Upload a drawing (graphic) to Thinglink and then pin with videos, images, audio files, and links to example each part of the mind map.

ViewPure

ViewPure is pure video viewing. It gives educators the ability show students YouTube videos without advertising, free from links to suggested videos that might be inappropriate, and without user comments below the video. Users can copy the video’s “pure” URL for future reference. In addition, teachers can opt to install a “Purify” button on their browser’s toolbar. Instead of pasting a YouTube video’s URL into the ViewPure URL field, an educator can simply click on the “Purify” button while viewing the YouTube video to instantly clear it of questionable advertisements and materials.
