Student will learn that fractions are made up of equal parts of a whole, and be able to identify and name fractions.
Students are to code the Dash or Dot robots with 4 variables, one for each coloured tile. (i.e. turn the robot into a 'di'. See sample code to the right). They will "roll" the robots and take a tile for each results. After 10 minutes on this task students are to collect the tiles and write the fractions on the whiteboard; i.e., if a student rolls 10 times and 3 rolls are red their fractions should look like 3/10 red, 3/10 blue, 1/10 green.
