Learning Goal:

We are learning to estimate and investigate the length (perimeter) of objects in our classroom and compare our findings.

Materials:

      • Blockly App
      • Dash robot
      • Whiteboard/paper

Challenge

Find two objects in your classroom that you can't move and that you think are about the same length.

  1. How will you prove they are about the same length using Dash?
  2. Find two things that you think have the same perimeter. Use Dash to test your theory.
  3. Record your work for each question.

  • How did you choose your two objects and estimate they were the same length?
  • How did you know when your objects were about the same length (perimeter)?
  • How did you choose to record your work?
  • What questions arose as you worked?
