ARCO MERA

Arco Mera

Arco Mera connects Corso Matteotti and Piazza Podestà (in the past it was the heart of the town because there was the municipality) with Piazza San Vittore.

It was built in 1850 by Luigi Mera.

Arco Mera is also a war memorial.

On the sides there are some  marble slabs and stone inlays decorated with Latin writtens. From their position it seems that the stone inlays frame the marble slabs. On the plates are engraved the names of the citizens who have obtained the Gold Medal for Valor and those who died during the First and Second World Wars and the colonial wars in Eritrea, Libya and Ethiopia.

On the vault, the signs of the zodiac are represented.
