The LEO Academy Trust are one of the oldest strategic partners between LGfL and a group of schools. Working in partnership over many years, both LGfL and LEO have collaborated on a wide range of projects and EdTech developments for the benefit not only of LEO pupils but also across the entire LGfL community and beyond. During the COVID lockdown of 2020 the ReadingZone Live website was reorganised and English experts from the LEO Academy Trust led the way on how to maximise the amazing author insights contained in the 1,000 video clips that fill this unique archive.
These case studies from LEO explain the impact of the revised ReadingZone Live portal.
Cheam Common Junior Academy took part in the Pilot featuring the Picoh Robot Head. They used it to develop the following:
Cross-curricular approach - developed English, maths and computing lessons using the Near Space Launch as a stimulus
To develop the pupils’ coding skills; working collaboratively to code two Picohs to have a “conversation”.
To code the Picoh to show the emotions and thoughts that may occur when travelling to near space
The Near Space Launch materials were used to teach maths using the data gathered from the launch.
