Cornerstone C of E Primary School
Intro to the school and your vision CSP1
'As a school, our vision is about growing an inspirational learning community where we all see ourselves as learners. We all want to innovate and we all want to grow and develop.'
Tim Clarke
Headteacher - Cornerstone C of E Primary School
What has been your EdTech Journey? CSP2
'We use lots of accessibility tools and lots of these are used within a range of different learning opportunities for the children.'
Tamara Goddard
Year 6 teacher and Upper KS2 Lead
What role does EdTech play in raising standards at your school? CSP3
'EdTech plays a huge role in raising standards across the whole school because the children come from Year R up to Year One and Two already skilled in using technology which then feeds through across Key Stage Two. This is also really relevant as when they go into secondary school, they've already had those experiences and those exposures to a range of real-life technology situations.'
Tamara Goddard
Year 6 teacher and Upper KS2 Lead
How do you manage the change required? CSP4
'To manage the change required, we give our staff lots of time to implement new things and new tools. We don't ask staff to do anything that we haven't tried ourselves and we share with them the benefits of using the technology. We also share the benefits with the children directly so that they can see where their learning is going and why that's important to be able to use technology to support and aid their understanding. We also develop case studies in school so that staff can see real life examples of how technology has already been used before. They then choose to try it out for themselves.'

How do you use technology to remove barriers to learning? CSP5
'By giving the children voice and choice and skilling them up in using technology, it very much allows them to be active leaders of their own learning.'
Tim Clarke

How to ensure that pedagogy leads to the effective use of technology? CSP6
'We spend a lot of time in staff meetings looking at learning and pedagogy and the processes and actually then look at how the technology feeds into that and how we can use that to support what the children are doing. It's about talking to the children about the best choice as well. Actually, sometimes it is best to use pen and paper but actually, sometimes it is best to use the technology and we look at why and when that's important.'
Tamara Goddard
Year 6 teacher and Upper KS2 Lead
What advice would you give to others about EdTech adoption?
'I think if I was to give advice to anyone else who wanted to use technology within their school, it would be about developing the time and the energy and enthusiasm of staff and learners. Everybody likes trying something new if they can see the benefits and the rewards of it. And it's about giving time to that process.'
