Liverpool EdTech Hubs Panel Discussion - Unengaged Parents
'We start right at the start of the school journey, so as our transition into early years, as part of the admission process, we sign people up for the platforms that we communicate on. We get them there and we talk about why we do that and how that will give them a window into their child's learning. And then where we're using those tools, the most effective model, we find with parents is doing things with their children. So if you ask them to come in for an online safety meeting or to sign up for something, they won't. But if you ask them to come and explore something with their children, then they really enjoy that. So that's been a very effective way. It's about showing them how that can give them a window into their child's world, and they've really like that. And then Then you can move into sharing perhaps more the formal things that you want to share. But it's about building relationships and starting early'

Liverpool EdTech Hubs Panel Discussion - Technical support for PedTech
'I think it is partly about staff confidence. If you're a teacher in a classroom and I give you a dry whiteboard and a pen and something goes wrong in your lesson and you have to deviate ... you just deviate, don't you? We're experts at it. Colleagues of mine who work outside education can't believe how we adapt. For some reason, technology can be a mental blocker for teachers. If the technology stops working then we just carry on as you normally would do in a different way. It doesn't matter; and we then deal with the issue later on. So I think everyone can have a part to play, I think, in that support aspect'

“We value each child for who they are and prepare them for who they can be.”
Our school is a place where everyone is treated equally, encouraged and respected. We believe that all children should be able to achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally. We are committed to our school being a safe and inclusive place where learning is nurtured and encouraged in a happy, caring and fun environment. We all work for our school to be a happy place where good behaviour is expected and all children enjoy their educational journey.
