The below is for the standard display setup, which is the laptop closed and clone display (using the monitor and the SMART board). If a teacher chooses to have alternate display setup that is fine.
Step One: Docking Station - Physical Connections
Check the connections in the back of your docking station
The VGA cable from the data projector should be in the first spot
The adapter connecting the monitor should be in the 3rd spot
(See below for picture)
Important: EVERY time you return the laptop to the docking station, you need to lock it in place Then WAIT 60 seconds before pressing the docking station power button.
Step Two: Display Setup Settings - Extended display
Everything needs to be turned ON:
Closed laptop in docking station, data projector & monitor
Right click on desktop
Left click “Graphic Properties”
Left click “Display”
Left click “Multiple displays” (located on left side)
Choose “Extended Desktop”
Under “Select One or More Active Displays”
Change 2 to “Smart” board option
Click “Apply” (in bottom right corner)
If you want both screens to show the same thing, select "Clone" instead.
At this point, you might need to restart to have the setup take effect.
