Spam is unsolicited messages (i.e. junk mail) sent in bulk by email.
Phishing is the fraudulent attempt to obtain your sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, social security number or credit card details by disguising themself as a trustworthy entity.
Report Spam in Gmail
This moves the message to your Spam folder. Gmail learns what you choose as spam and attempts to keep future emails out of your inbox. It “learns” more of what is spam.
Report Phishing in Gmail
This reports fraudulent emails to Google’s Abuse Team and removes the email from your inbox.
