Rewards Trips

Linked to our League of Excellence,  students have been able to choose from a range of trips, based on their conduct and the amount of reward points earned throughout the academic year.

This year we offered trips to Thorpe Park, Adventure Island in Southend, a Bluewater cinema trip to see Guardians of the Galaxy, Mote Park and Panic Rooms.

Here are some snapshots of an incredibly fun day for everyone:

Mote Park:

A short drive away from The Leigh Academy, Mote Park offers a range of activities for the thrill seeker! The Sky Trail, climbing wall, mini golf and Segways provide entertainment for those who like to have their heads in the clouds, or their feet firmly on the ground!

Dylan, a Year 9 student said, "Mote is really good, I love that there are some many different activities to do in one place" and Demi, a Year 7 Shakespeare student said "This is amazing and I would definitely come back here again. It really gets your adrenaline pumping!"

A good time was had by all!!

Bluewater Cinema Trip:

Some of our Year 7 - Year 9 students were treated this year to a cinema screening on Tuesday, 18th July as part of their rewards trip. 42 of our students took part in the event held at the Bluewater Cinema in Dartford.

They thoroughly enjoyed Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and all of them were treated with extra popcorn to enjoy while watching the film.

On this trip, all our students demonstrated The Leigh Academy values - Responsibility, Resilience, and Respect. The trip also supported our students to work toward achieving a well-rounded education.

Thorpe Park Trip:

On Tuesday 18th July, 172 students across Year 7 to Year 9 chose to take part in the Thorpe Park trip as their end of year reward. They went on many exhilarating roller coaster rides such as  Stealth, Swarm, Collossus, Saw, Vortex and many others. Their day was filled with laughter and making memories, we were also very lucky with the weather, which was on our side!

Our students were an absolute credit to the academy as they demonstrated model behaviour and didn't complain once about some of the lengthy queues. Thank you to the staff and students involved for making it such a memorable day.

Southend Adventure Island:

On Tuesday 200 students choose to visit Southend's Adventure Island as their end of year reward.  They enjoyed rides such as Axis, Skydrop and Rage.  Some, as well as teachers, even had a go on the pink elephants!  Many students enjoyed an ice cream in the sun whilst queueing for rides.

Students were impeccably behaved which meant that everyone, including the staff could enjoy the day.

Panic Rooms:

Students had a fantastic time at the Panic Rooms!

The students were able to choose a Panic Room (how many escaped??) with their friends and also play Laser Tag or take part in Axe Throwing (this was quite cathartic!).

The students also had the opportunity to use the arcade facilities and to play mini golf in the Family Entertainment Centre!
