SCI3533 – Biomedical Innovation

· Selection Criteria: Principles of Biomedical Sciences or Human Body Systems - or teacher permission. If students have taken previous Biomed courses they need to have received a C or better or will need special approval.

PLTW Biomedical Innovation is an exciting course in which you design innovative solutions for the most pressing health challenges of the 21st century. You will be challenged to think creatively about the problems of today and innovate for tomorrow. As you complete the course, projects you may encounter include: genetically engineering an organism, designing an emergency room, solving an environmental and medical mystery, and completing a forensic investigation. You will also have an opportunity to work on an independent project with a mentor or advisor from a university, medical facility, or research institution.
