Cross-curricular links have taken a central place in the planning of units in this module, so to help our students create necessary connections between the information they receive in different subjects. English has developed some links with Arts and History; likewise, The Science department has worked closely with Spanish on the concept of “Healthy Living”.

We have explored Approaches to Learning (ATLs) through all subjects to ensure our students continue to make progress when it comes to being an effective learner. In DT, students have had the opportunity to work on their Research skills as they had to inquire and analyse several resources and findings.

As you are already aware, at Leigh Academy Blackheath we put a big emphasis on fostering a love for reading. At the heart of the school is our Library, which Ms Medcalf has been working really hard to organise before our students’ return. Below you will find some pictures of the displays currently in the library.
