Lesson Plan
Lesson plan is a teacher’s detailed description of the subject and course of instruction or learning trajectory for a lesson. It’s a teacher’s planning which is developed from the curriculum or teacher’s guidebook for preparing themselves before delivering and facilitating a lesson to students before the following days. Lesson planning should link or developed from the curriculum. It is a method of giving a teacher a place to jot down an information and things that are needed to deliver during session hours. It is very critical to remind them as it can keep track of important things.
In the first indicator which is link the lesson plan to the curriculum standard and weekly planner and it’s tried to highlight that curriculum planning is broader and encompasses the entire scope and sequence of learning should link to the lesson plan. It is a teacher’s planning which is developed from the curriculum or teacher’s guidebook for preparing themselves before delivering and facilitating a lesson to students before the following days. It is a method of giving a teacher a place to jot down an information and things that are needed to deliver during session hours. It is very critical to remind them as it can keep track of important things (Richards & Renandya , 2002). In addition, during my observation, from what I found from my associate teacher, she used a lesson plan to outline the content of their lesson step by step that are needed to be delivered. He includes a list of tasks students will partake in and to assist guide his teaching. He usually managed to prepare himself ages ago before the delivery. However, it is superlative to create a weekly plan than daily plan since it minimises what you are supposed to do daily to your lesson plan. For such, it encourages educators to consider order, the goal of their approaches and their duration with children. Encourages a teacher to facilitate students in an appropriate way. It provides a learning outcome which easily assist a lecture to know that at the end of the delivery, students should be able to achieve all the targeted goals of each subject. If not, they will search for new strategies to motivate students’ learning so they can achieve the learning outcomes.
In addition, according to this indicator which is ensure that the lesson plan indicates: objectives/learning outcomes, introduction (topic to be included), development, application (assessment), teaching aids/ resources, conclusion, and evaluation and when creating your lesson plan you should apply this method. It helps a teacher summarise the whole part of the activity from the curriculum. Adding and summing up the parts of the lesson in small details. Clearly state that in a lesson plan a teacher created or developed, it should include all part of a lesson plan. It can be called an IDAC lesson plan. It is a procedure to guide a teacher to develop activities to facilitate learner. Also a director to show educators what to deliver first from the beginning of the delivery to the end. This are the lesson plan that are needed to be complete to make a teacher ready and know what to do prior to interacting with students. Alight the instructional materials with the assessment and the assessment with the learning goal.
Thus, the last indicator which is prepare classroom and various relevant, locally available, and affordable teaching resources means that when teachers delivered a lesson, they should use teaching aids and resources practical methods to make students understand better in learning. Teaching aids are the most significant tools of teaching process which provide students a natural learning experience environment and can make learning more interesting, and students tend to remember the concepts longer if they learn and study them when they are paying attention to it. Teaching aids are useful in delivering which support the profession practice learning and to make life easier for the teacher. In addition, teaching aids are the most significant tools of teaching process which provide students a natural learning experience environment and assist them to take part in the teaching learning process.
Moreover, lesson plan encourages a teacher to facilitate students in an appropriate way. It provides a learning outcome which easily assist them to know that at the end of the delivery, students should be able to achieve all the targeted goals of each subject which are the learning outcomes. This strategy could assist motivate students’ capability and can accomplished their full potential. There are many ways in developing a lesson plan, some can apply doing IDAC, 5E, and the 3Ps. We already apply doing the IDAC format in doing lesson plan. As I am a trainee teacher, I should know how to create a lesson plan as it is assist me jot down all the information and things that are needed before delivery. Also lead me during my delivery.
Therefore, lesson planning is a significant approach for teacher as it leaded them to their targeted goal. What students supposed to achieve at the end of the class. Thus, it is a weighting errand they carried on their shoulders, but it a consequence of this profession, so they must accept all the difficulties and stressful of becoming a teacher. As we are trainees, we should know and keep in our mind that lesson plan is what we must know doing it step by step because it helps each of us to identify students, who accomplished the learning outcomes and who did not achieve.
