Effective teaching in primary school is the most significant way of playing a crucial role in establishing the foundation of a child’s educational journal. It encompasses a range of strategies and methods designed to capture students’ interest and actively involve them in the learning process, thereby improving their comprehension and nurturing a passion for learning. However, this composition will be zeroed in on three key indicators that contribute to effective teaching which are: using correct English language when teaching lessons, summarizing what has been taught at the end of every lesson and effectively utilizing different resources to facilitate learning.
In fact, using the correct English language when teaching lessons is what we teachers ought to perform since it has a lot of contribution to students' learning, especially in primaries. It assists understudies to learn the language properly and accurately and likewise further improves their understanding skills in English (Zakirovich, 2023). Teachers are role models to students, so how they use grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation affects students' language acquisition. Clear communication improves students' understanding concepts better and also could prevent misinterpretation. Notwithstanding, when teachers consistently use proper language, it encourages students to practice these standards in their own speaking and writing. This not only helps them learn but also gets them ready for future academic challenges.
Moreover, effectively using different resources to facilitate learning in each lesson is another indicator that supports effective teaching (Khan & Ullah, 2021). Utilising a variety of resources enhances the learning experience by catering to different learning styles and preferences among students. For example, using real-life objects like fruits can make Maths concepts easier to understand. Pictures, newspapers, and videos can also help students learn by making lessons more interesting and relevant. Using a variety of resources makes the classroom more engaging and helps students easily understand the material better as you can see in the resource.
Furthermore, summarising what has been taught at the end of every class is one of the most significant strategies that help with effective teaching. Summarising the lesson assists lecturers point out the main ideas, making it easier for students to understand and remember what they have learned. It can provide an opportunity for every understudy to reflect on what they have learned and have the time to ask for further questions about areas they find confusing. However, concluding a lesson by summarising it through oral questions or individual activity, helps teachers highlight the main points, clear up any misunderstandings, and let students think about what they've learned. It also gives students a chance to ask questions and helps teachers see if students understand the material, so they can adjust future lessons to better meet their needs refer to reflective writing.
To conclude, to teach well in primary school, it is very vital to do a few things. First, using proper English helps teachers communicate clearly with their students. Second, summarising what was taught at the end of each lesson helps students remember and understand the material better. Lastly, using different resources like pictures, videos, and real-life objects helps students learn in the way that works best for them since it relates to real life situations. When teachers use these strategies together, they create a fun and engaging learning environment that helps students not only learn new things but also develop a love for learning that will last a lifetime. Notwithstanding, being a teacher is a tough challenge to confront, but since we entered this field, we ought to face all the consequences of it to assist students meet their full potential since they have their bright future ahead of them.
