Learning Outcome: At the end of the lesson students can
1. Explain the word prevention
2. Identify ways to prevent communicable disease
3. Perform exercise to prevent communicable disease
Teaching aids:
Plain paper, marker, flascards, water, soap, garden.
Warmer:
Relay.
Group them into their team and do the exercise which is running.
Introduction:
Gather all students in the middle of the class
Organise students in their team and march them outside the classroom
Gather them in the place where there is no sunlight effect
Check their understanding on their previous topic
Introduce the new learning outcome and also introduce the purpose of the outdoor activity.
Development
Provide them examples of communicable disease and demonstrate ways to prevent it
Group them in their team and march them to the site visit place on campus
Site visit: Garden, Well water.
Allow students to observe the garden and it crops
Elicit their prior knowledge on plants inside the garden and well water and how it relate with the prevention of communicable disease
Add on with their ideas and explain more on the importance of plants in the garden for the health and how it helps to prevent communicable disease. Also for well water and demonstrate the activity on hand wash and its importance in prevention of communicable disease.
Application.
Gather them again in their team and distribute them with their type of communicable disease.
Allow them to share what they experience on outdoor activity on prevention for communicable disease
Allow them to present their work.
Conclusion
Revisit the learning Outcome
Praise students for their effort and participation throughout the lesson
Wash hand again before entering the class to remove bacteria after outdoor activity
Mark the end of the class with a 3 strong claps.
Evaluation
Strength:
All students achieve the learning outcome and engage during our outdoor activity
Weaknesses:
Controlling a large number of students during outdoor activities is hard and some makes our outdoor as a play time activity
Intervention:
We need more techniques and strategies on controlling as well as time management.
