Ethical behavior and personal values are the fundamental principles that direct every persons in their interactions and decision-making throughout life. Ethical behavior refers to a behavior that are consistent with moral values and the important of right and wrong. Personal values are convictions that peoples hold dear in their lives. However, this discussion will briefly explain the significance of ethical behavior and personal values between teachers and their students.
First of all, the most important part of ethical behavior in the interactions between teacher and students is that teachers are trusted to act with respect, fairness and honesty because students feel safe and appreciated when their teacher act in these ways. For instance, a teacher who assigns grades honesty and shows no partiality towards their students gains the trust of their students, this contributed to their academic progress. Here teachers are the role model; they held the responsibility of setting good examples so they can create a positive environment inside and outside the classroom, since students copies what they saw same to us we copies what we saw from our parents or elders (Debeş, 2021).
Personal values are very important for both teachers and student to know how to behave in class especially demonstrating what right and wrong. For instance, student who values honesty will always tell the truth similarly, teachers will honest in everything like marking grades and so forth. Teachers here are encouraged to be aware of the moral principles so they can teach and treat everyone according to their values or principles because it make both of them feels good or satisfied. For example, Teachers who follow their moral principles in the classroom, feel fulfilled, and students who do the same. Feel inspired and self-assured or motivated. Notwithstanding, personal values were essential in teaching people how to behave, communicate what was correct, and assist us in feeling good about ourselves (Perrin, Jury, & Desombre, 2021).
To end with, ethical behavior and personal values are was very vital in the teacher-students relationship, influencing not just academic achievement but also building up character and personal growth.
