Volunteering is a meaningful way to give back to your community, develop valuable skills, and build lasting connections. Whether you’re looking to fulfill service requirements, gain leadership experience, or support a cause you’re passionate about, there are many ways to get involved. Giving your time benefits those in need and helps you grow personally and professionally, making volunteering a rewarding experience for you and the community you serve.
Students receiving KS College Scholarships (Kaʻi Lanakila, Poʻo Kula, Nowelo, etc.) must complete community service hours as part of their commitment to giving back. Depending on your location and schedule, these hours can be completed in various ways. Students can volunteer with fellow alumni over summer and winter breaks through organized service projects (visit Events & Engagement). Those studying away from home can also fulfill their requirement by volunteering with local nonprofits or other community organizations.
