To 'seek' is neverending. It is driven by some sort of compassion. It is a question or an enigma that is baffling to one's own intellect or soul that requires a response or an answer. It becomes an endeavor that one wishes to obtain and reach. Or, alas, it is a level of contentedness that an individual wishes to obtain. To all at Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi, I encourage all to continue to 'seek'. As our ancestors, our own families have set the pathway of search, may we continue to use their knowledge, their challenges, their successes, and their defeats in allowing us to move forward with PONO, with ALOHA, and with continued OLA!
To the Class of 2014, your seeking gets deeper and broader as you prepare for your next steps on this pathway of life. I implore of you to use the tools learned and experiences from school and home in assisting you as you move forward. One of the greatest lessons that I have learned from my own parents - "Never doubt you!" You have a wealth of knowledge and experiences to begin your travels with - continue to seek more to get you farther in reaching your goals and endeavors.
