Yearbook Manaʻo
He maka lehua no kona one hānau.
Our Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop hoped that the future generations of Hawaiʻi would become successful and industrious men and women. She hoped that we would become modern Hawaiians who remember where we came from and who we are. She left behind Kamehameha Schools, hoping that her dream would become reality.
As students of Kamehameha Schools, we are expected to stand upright and hold ourselves with dignity and pride wherever we may venture. The theme of this year's yearbook, "He maka lehua no kona one hānau," or "One who has the face of a warrior in his birthplace," reminds us of the spirit that lies within us. The spirit of the warrior that we all have as kānaka maoli and as students of Kamehameha Schools.
