To design, build and program a device which can putt a golf ball from a distance
ALL students will: Design, build and program a device which can move a golf ball
MOST students will: Design, build and program a device which can putt a golf ball from a distance
SOME students may: Design, build and program a device which can putt a golf ball from a distance, twice in a row.
You are to design a device which putts a golf ball into a hole.
The device MUST be at least 1 meter from the hole when the ball is released
The hole will be directly straight in front of the device.
a) Create a rapid prototype sketch of the device you wish to build. Include detail on the following:
Structure
Motors
Sensor
Movement
The path the ball will take
b) Explain your idea to your partner. You are now to choose between both ideas to build.
a) Build your device - the device must be similar to the plan (changes are allowed)
You are to are allowed to use both medium and large motors
You must use a sensor
The rest is up to you!
a) Program the device.
a) Now is the time to test that your device works! Your device must putt a ball from a distance, twice in a row.
Can you use parts which are not part of the Mindstorm kits? Have a look around the STEM lab!
Move on to the evaluation! Take your device apart so it is ready for the next challenge.
