Rights Respecting Schools

We currently have a staff working group who are eagerly getting started on gaining KHS accreditation for the first step in our journey with rights respecting schools - gaining the Bronze Award. Please contact us if you would like to get involved.

We have recently been focused on the following Articles from the United Nations Convention on the Rights of a Child: -

Article 22 states: -

If a child is a refugee or is seeking refuge, governments must make sure that they have the same rights as any other child

Article 28 states: -

Every child has the right to an education. Secondary education must be available to every child

Article 38 states: -

Governments must do everything they can to protect and care for children affected by war

Article 39 states: -

Children who are victims of war must receive special help to help them recover their health, dignity and self-respect.
