Our school day

We are very proud of our curriculum model that allows for flexibility and creativity, which are two essential ingredients to ensure all pupils achieve their best that, in turn, allows our attainment to improve. We have included some information below about transport as the school day starts from the moment pupils walk onto a school bus. Our school days and the timings are also outlined below but please contact us at school if you would like further information or have any questions.

Kingussie High School is situated in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park. Our catchment area stretches to Aviemore in the North of the valley through to Dalwhinnie in the South and Strathmashie in the West! This is a vast area, which means that nearly 80% of our pupils use the bus service to and from school each day. Our buses begin collecting pupils in Aviemore from 7.45 and as they do in Ralia, Laggan and Dalwhinnie. The buses are part of the daily routine for our pupils and they quickly get into the habit and become used to this routine. It is very important that all pupils behave responsibly on the school buses, wear their seat belts and are respectful at all times. Where concerns arise, we always follow-up with an investigation, discussions and appropriate actions. If you would like to know more information about any aspects of transportation, please do not hesitate to contact us at school.
