Sexual Violence Prevention Education
Your child’s health and safety are very important to us. To ensure we are keeping our students safe, Hawai’i Department of Education is mandating schools to deliver sexual violence prevention education throughout this school year. Teaching students knowledge and skills that support bodily autonomy contributes to healthy relationships, reduces young people’s vulnerability to sexual violence, and connects students to help and resources if sexual violence happens to them. Please see this letter and brochure from Superintendent Hayashi for more information.
The Annual Sexual Violence Prevention Education Requirement Pathway are the targeted lessons that will be taught to our students. Nimitz Elementary Sexual Violence Prevention Curriculum will come from the following programs...
Specific Lessons from these programs will be taught on the schedule below...
Parent Opt Out Form- Should you choose to opt out your child out of this program, please fill out the form linked here (bit.ly/NimitzSVPOptOut). When submitted, our staff will automatically be notified of your intentions. If this form is not filled out by the start of the sexual violence prevention instruction (August 31), we will understand that your child has your approval to participate in the lessons.
