8/19/2026- Updates and Reminders

School Shirt Spirit Day 8/20- For our first spirit day of the school year, next week Thursday will be School Shirt/Colors Day. To show our school unity, come with your school shirt (vintage included) or in school colors (blue/yellow) on August 20.
 

Holiday Reminder 8/21- This Friday will be Statehood Day, which means there will be no instruction. Instruction will resume on Monday Aug 24. 

Parent Teacher Conference Preference Forms- Prior to the distribution of our Q1 report cards, Nimitz Elementary holds our annual Parent/Teacher conferences in September. These conferences are fast approaching and are an important opportunity for you to meet with your child’s teacher, discuss your child’s progress, and learn about our statewide initiatives and school curricular expectations that support student success throughout the year. By tomorrow, you should be receiving a form to fill out indicating your preferences for dates and times. Please fill out this form, and return to your respective teacher by Tuesday Aug 25th. 

After School Clubs- We are happy to announce that After School clubs for SY26-27 are back again for Semester 1. A hard copy of this letter will be sent home by Friday of this week. Space is limited for each club, and enrollment will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Permission forms may be returned to the front office beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. Please note that permission forms will not be accepted via email or through your child’s homeroom teacher. All completed forms must be submitted directly to the front office. Please reach out to Vice Principal Kasey Lahousse if you have any questions. 

Absence Reporting Reminder- If you know your child will be absent, it is important you notify us using our absence reporting system. You can report an absence using this link, which is also available at bit.ly/NESAbsenceReport.

  • Please provide your child’s name, classroom and teachers name in the notes to the seller and we will deliver it to the classroom for your child to bring home.

  • Our 2026/27 inventory has been much more popular than we anticipated, which means we have sold out of some sizes. We are reordering inventory and will send out an announcement when sold out sizes are available for sale. Previous years shirts will not be restocked- so get them while you can!

• Mabel's Labels: We’ve partnered with Mabel’s Labels to help keep track of your student’s belongings and support our school. Visit Mabels Labels and search “Nimitz Elementary” to get started!

  • A portion of every purchase goes directly back to our school

• Box Tops: Helping Nimitz is as easy as grocery shopping! Download the Box Tops for Education app, select Nimitz Elementary as your school, and start scanning your receipts. Every time you shop and scan, a portion goes right back to our school-no clipping needed! 

• Profit Share 8/28: A profit share event with Panda Express will be happening on the 28th of August. This means that 28% of sales for nationwide online orders, using our fundraiser code (9017000), will be donated to Nimitz PTO. Easy click links will be posted via our social media sites as the event gets closer and preorder becomes available. This event applies to Panda Expresses nationwide, so feel free to share with friends and family.
