7/18/2024- Updates and Reminders

New Student Registration- Hello new families! Welcome to Nimitz Elementary School. If you have not registered your children yet, please do so as soon as possible. With that said, for students to attend the first day of school, they must be registered with our office staff by 2:30pm on August 2nd. Documentation needed for registration can be found on our Registration Page. 

PreK, Grade 1-6 Class Lists and Meet and Greet- For PreK and Grade 1-6 students that are registered by July 26th, classroom assignments will be released for said students through email by the end of day on July 29th. Following that, PreK and Grade 1-6 students that register between then and August 1st can see their classroom assignment on our PreK and Grade 1-6 Meet and Greet day between 8am and 9am on August 2nd. Our Meet and Greet Day will allow families to come on campus to meet our teachers and drop off supplies before the first day of school. We hope you can make it!

• 8/6/24- First Day for School, 7:45am-2pm (PreK, Grade 1-6)

• 8/9/24- Kindergarten Orientation and Meet and Greet, 8:15am-10am & 1:30pm-2pm

Bus Transportation Information- If you are interested in utilizing bus services you may apply online at https://hi.etrition.com/busapplication after July 22, 2024. You will be notified of approval or disapproval of your bus application, once your application is approved by the school office. This process can take up to four (4) weeks.

Student Meal Accounts- To establish and deposit into your child’s meal account, please go to ezmealapp.com. For those starting a new account, be sure to select “Start Now”,  “Hawaii” and “DOE- Honolulu, Central, Windward, etc.”

After School Care- Unfortunately, due to low enrollment numbers, Nimitz Elementary has not been able to secure an on-site provider for after school care. We encourage our families to look into options with our Hickam and Catlin School Age Centers.

• Chalk the Walk: August 5th 5-6pm - Come out to the school to leave some encouraging messages on the sidewalk for the student's first day of school (August 6th). Chalk will be provided.
