Nimitz Yearbook Cover Contest- Attention all artists in grades 3-6, we are still accepting entries for our yearbook cover contest! The deadline has been extended to Friday, January 16, 2026. Q2 Report Cards- Reports cards for Quarter 2 will be distributed to families on 1/16/25. They will be sent home manually, so be sure to check in with your respective student courier. Should you have any questions about the report card, please contact your child's respective teacher. 

Eagles of the Month of November- Our December Eagles of the Month have been added to the EoM page! Our Eagles of the Month have demonstrated exemplary behavior in the classroom and were recognized in front of their peers on the week of 12/17…Way to SOAR, students!

School Quality Survey-The DOE School Quality Survey (SQS) is now open for you to take. The SQS is a survey that measures parent perceptions of the safety and well-being of their child(ren), and parent satisfaction and involvement/engagement with Nimitz Elementary.  All responses will be kept confidential in order to gather candid information and will be used by schools for continuous improvement purposes.  Please reference this parent letter (a hardcopy was sent home with each child) which includes an internet link and QR code to access the Parent SQS.

Kids Heart Challenge- Don’t wait, sign up TODAY! The Nimitz Elementary Kids Heart Challenge starts on January 16th. We are proud to support the American Heart Association to help save lives! If you would like to participate in our AHA fundraiser, please see the information below…

Hickam ES E-Waste Drive- This Saturday (1/10), our sister school Hickam Elementary will be hosting an E-Waste Drive from 8am until 12pm. If you have any electronic waste to dispose of, please think about dropping it off at Hickam ES, this weekend. See this flier for details.

• Talent Show Reminder: Talent Show forms are due Monday, January 12th. Once all forms have been submitted, we will reach out with additional details regarding auditions.Please be sure to include current contact information on your form so we can easily follow up. • Profit Share: Our next Profit Share Night is Friday, January 16th at Panda Express! This fundraiser is nationwide and runs all day, so feel free to share with family and friends across the United States. Be sure to use our online code 9006916 when ordering, and a portion of your purchase will be donated back to support our school.

• Mural Community Service Day: We are excited to announce that the mural our amazing school community worked so hard to fundraise for will begin this month! Our artist has set aside time on January 18th for families to help paint a portion of the mural. Spots are limited. • Join the PTO: We’re excited to kick off a new year and are already looking ahead to welcoming new PTO Board Members for the 2026-2027 school year! • Original Works: Your student will be coming home with a sheet of white paper on January 12th to use for designing their original work of art. Completed artwork must be returned to their teacher no later than January 27th. Please review the following link for important information regarding which art supplies can and cannot be used on the paper: ART INSTRUCTION. Once all artwork has been returned, additional information will be sent home about ordering your child’s artwork on a variety of items such as mugs, keychains, and more.

• Soaring Stars: Promote positivity at Nimitz! Tell us about a Nimitz Elementary teacher/staff member who has been doing a fabulous job lately or someone who has helped you out by filling out this FORM with a compliment or shout out. A winner will be randomly selected monthly to receive a gift card. 

  • Congratulations to our December Soaring Star winner Ms. White! Thank you for your dedication, positivity, and the care you show our students every day. We truly appreciate all that you do for our school community. Thank you and Congratulations again Ms. White!
