Fall Festival Save the Date- Join us for our Fall Festival Mini Carnival on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 2:30pm to 5:30 p.m. at Nimitz Elementary School. The proceeds will support classroom supplies and student activities. Enjoy food, games, entertainment, and prizes for everyone. Scrip (tickets) will be available for 50 cents each, redeemable for games, bounce houses, and beverages at the Anchored 4 Life Tent. All games will cost 2 scrips. There will also be food vendors and the PTO Penny War. Here is a link to the family invitation
Short Day and Aupaka Gate- We will be having our first Short Day Swap for this event, meaning our typical Wednesday short day will be swapped to Friday for this event. The Aupaka Gate will be open from 1:10pm to 5:30pm for the Fall Festival.
Fall Festival Scrip Presale- The last day for the Fall Festival Presale is this THURSDAY

If you miss the presale, scrips can still be purchased on the day of the event with cash only. Please send payment for scrips to your child's teacher in a sealed envelope or Ziploc bag by Thursday, October 2 2:00 pm. Scrips will be sent home on Wednesday, October 22nd. Fall Festival Volunteers Needed- For this major event, a lot of man power is needed. If you are able to lend a hand, it would be greatly appreciated. Please fill out this Fall Festival Volunteer sign-up if you would like to help.
Custodian Appreciation Week- This week was Custodian Appreciation week, so we wanted to give a shout out of recognition to all our wonderful custodians on campus. If you see them at arrival or dismissal, please give them a thank you for keeping our campus clean and safe.
Quarter 2 Bus Applications- As of Sept 22, the application period for Q2 bus transportation has been open, and will remain open until October 17. Please follow the instructions below to process your application.

Complete application and submit for processing.
You will be notified of approval or disapproval of your bus application. Once your application is approved by school office. You will then receive an email notification to proceed and pay via EZSchoolPay.
Your child will be issued a temporary online bus pass located on the bottom or your receipt to use until the permanent pass is available. Please have your student check in with the office staff to receive their permanent bus pass.
There will be NO REFUNDS for bus service payments. This process can take up to four (4) weeks.
Absence Reporting Reminder- If you know your child will be absent, it is important you notify us using our absence reporting system. You can report an absence using this link, which is also available on our website and at bit.ly/NESAbsenceReport.

Penny War Fundraiser: Our Penny Wars fundraiser is officially underway, and we love seeing how excited the students are for this friendly competition! Jugs will be out on a table before and after school every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from Sept 10th through Oct 24th. We’ll share a leaderboard update at the halfway point, so keep an eye out to see which grade is in the lead. The winning grade level will earn an ice cream party! Flyer

Spirit Gear: Show your school pride with our brand new spirit gear. Make sure to put your students name and teachers room number and we’ll drop it off.
Soaring Stars: Promote positivity at Nimitz! Tell us about a Nimitz Elementary teacher/staff member who has been doing a fabulous job lately or someone who has helped you out by filling out this FORM with a compliment or shout out. A winner will be randomly selected monthly to receive a gift card.
Congratulations to our September Soaring Star winner Mrs. Gregory! She goes above and beyond to inspire, support, and uplift her students.
