11/20/2025- Updates and Reminders

Turkey Trot Reminders

• Parent Check In- If you would like to join your child during the run, you must check in at the front office before entering campus (open at 11:30am). This is open to family members only. Visiting family members will need to wear a designated bracelet after signing in. Parents will be asked to wait for their children at the playcourt after arriving on campus.

  • Aupaka Gate- The Aupaka Gate will be open at 11:30am.

• Parent Sign Out- If you would like to sign your child out early from school after running at the event, please wait until the class returns to their rooms where you may sign out with your child’s teacher. 

• Run Schedule

  • PreK and K- 11:45am to 12:05pm (arrival at 11:35am)

  • 1st Grade - 12:05pm to 12:25pm (arrival at 11:55am)

  • 2nd Grade- 12:25pm to 12:45pm (arrival at 12:15pm)

  • 3rd Grade- 12:45pm to 1:05pm (arrival at 12:35pm)

  • 4th Grade- 1:05pm to 1:25pm (arrival at 12:55pm)

  • 5th/6th Grade- 1:25pm to 1:45pm (arrival at 1:15pm)

• Color Powder- The nature of a color run, is THE COLOR. All runners will have an option to participate in the color station of the run. At the station, runners will be given sprays of colored corn starch which will intentionally stain clothing. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU WEAR AN EXPENDABLE SHIRT IF YOU RUN THROUGH THE STATION. If you DO NOT want to participate in the color portion of the run, routes around the station will be provided. 

SAVE THE DATE PTO Movie Night- The Nimitz PTO would for you to join us for a fun-filled Family Movie Night on Friday, December 5th! Enjoy free crafts, a movie, cookies, and hot cocoa. It’s a great way to kick off the holiday season together! Please let us know you’re coming so we can plan enough treats for everyone! RSVP here!

Kona Ice 11/25- Next week Tuesday, the Kona Ice truck will be parked near Aupaka Gate at dismissal. If you’d like to take a break from the heat with an icy treat, please take a look at this flier for more information about pre-orders. 

Absence Reporting Reminder- If you know your child will be absent, it is important you notify us using our absence reporting system. You can report an absence using this link, which is also available on our website and at bit.ly/NESAbsenceReport.

• Turkey Trot Color Fun Run: Our Fun Run is tomorrow, which means tonight is the LAST NIGHT FOR DONATIONS on Mybooster.com before our big event! Every donation, no matter what size, makes a HUGE impact on our school!

• REMINDER: Please send students to school wearing a white shirt that can get messy from the color powder, along with sneakers so they’re ready for the Fun Run.

• Soaring Stars: Promote positivity at Nimitz! Tell us about a Nimitz Elementary teacher/staff member who has been doing a fabulous job lately or someone who has helped you out by filling out this FORM with a compliment or shout out. A winner will be randomly selected monthly to receive a gift card. 

  • Congratulations to our October Soaring Star winner Mrs. Wellbaum! Thank you for all the hard work and dedication you show to our students each day. Multiple parents shared how kind, creative, and patient you are with their children, and it’s clear you make a lasting positive impact on our school community.
