4/1/2026- Updates and Reminders

KHC Jump Rope Event TOMORROW (4/2)- As you all know, school was abruptly closed on Friday 3/13, which would have been the day of our Kid’s Heart Challenge Jump Rope event. I am happy to share that we have been able to make adjustments to our schedules, and will now host the event on Thursday 4/2. Parents will be welcome to the event, and we plan to follow the same daily schedule. 

Q3 Report Cards- Reports cards for Quarter 3 will be distributed to families tomorrow on 4/2/26. They will be sent home manually, so be sure to check in with your respective student courier. Should you have any questions about the report card, please contact your child's respective teacher. 

Good Friday Holiday- This is a friendly reminder that this Friday (4/3) is a holiday recognizing Good Friday. Therefore, there will be no instruction on this day, and instruction will resume on Monday 4/6.

Kindergarten Registration SY26-27 NOW OPEN- To our families who have a child that has turned, or will be turning 5 between August 1, 2025 and July 31, 2026, registration is now open for your Kindergarten child. Please see our Registration & Release Page and our Kindergarten 26-27 Page for more information. 

Absence Reporting Reminder- If you know your child will be absent, it is important you notify us using our absence reporting system. You can report an absence using this link, which is also available on our website and at bit.ly/NESAbsenceReport.

• Original Works Reminder: Students should have received their Original Works ordering packets last week. We loved seeing all the amazing designs and creativity! If you’re interested in purchasing keepsakes featuring your child’s artwork, please be sure to place your orders by April 9th. These items also make wonderful gift ideas for upcoming holidays and special occasions! 

• Family Game Night is Back!: Join us for a fun-filled evening at our Family Bingo Night on Friday, April 10th, doors open at 5PM. Bingo for the whole family and small snacks and drinks will be provided by the PTO. Bring your family, your excitement, and get ready for a great night of laughter and prizes. We can’t wait to see you there!

• Month of the Military Child – Clap In: In honor of the Month of the Military Child, we will be hosting a special Clap In on April 15th to celebrate and recognize our military-connected students. Parents are welcome to join us in cheering them on–please arrive starting at 7:20 AM to participate!

• Join the PTO: We’re excited to kick off a new year and are already looking ahead to welcoming new PTO Board Members for the 2026-2027 school year! • Soaring Stars: Promote positivity at Nimitz! Tell us about a Nimitz Elementary teacher/staff member who has been doing a fabulous job lately or someone who has helped you out by filling out this FORM with a compliment or shout out. A winner will be randomly selected monthly to receive a gift card.
