New Student Registration- If you’re seeing this on our website as a family with K-6 kids in our boundaries, and have not registered your children yet, please do so as soon as possible! It is important that you register sooner than later to avoid an influx of late registrations which could delay start dates. Students who are registered by the end of day July 30 will be able to start on August 4th (first day). Documentation needed for registration can be found on our Registration Page.
*Kindergarten Registration and Schedule- If your Kindergarten aged child is starting their educational journey, please remember that there is a special schedule and calendar for Kindergarten students to follow. You can find this information, and more, here at the Nimitz ES Kindergarten 26-27 page.
Supply Lists- Supply lists for all grade levels are available on our website. Please click here to access all lists.
Student Meal Accounts- To establish and deposit into your child’s meal account, please go to ezmealapp.com. For those starting a new account, be sure to select “Start Now”, “Hawaii” and “DOE- Honolulu, Central, Windward, etc.”
Bus Transportation- The application period for bus transportation is now open. Please see our Transportation page for more details on how to set up bus transportation for your child.
On Site Medication Preparation- If you have a child that requires medication to be stored on site, please contact our office to ensure you are following the appropriate SH-36 procedures to ensure said medication is ready to be on site by the first day of school.
Parent/Student Handbook- Especially for our new families, please make sure you review the Parent/Student Handbook to ensure you are aware of all the operations and rules at Nimitz Elementary. In addition to our school rules, please note that this school year HIDOE has implemented a new cell-phone policy across all Hawaii public schools.
HIDOE Student Behavior and Safety- Nimitz Elementary, along with all HIDOE Schools, takes great care in keep students safe. Please see this letter from our superintendent that details how we handle student safety through management of behavior, safety drills, and a focus on social emotional learning.
Visitor Code of Conduct- The Hawaiʻi State Department of Education (Department) is committed to fostering an environment that reflects the spirit of Living Aloha, a culture of respect, cooperation, and mutual support. In collaboration with the Attorney General’s office, the Department has
established the Visitor Code of Conduct to ensure that interactions with all Department employees and the public are conducted in a safe and respectful manner. The Visitor Code of Conduct outlines clear expectations for visitor behavior, including respectful communication, adherence to personal and professional boundaries, and compliance with school policies and legal requirements. Please adhere to these guidelines when communicating with our staff this school year.
PreK, Grade 1-6 Class List Distribution- PreK and Grade 1-6 students that have completed registration by July 24th, will have their classroom assignments released by email on July 27th. PreK and Grade 1-6 students that complete registration on July 27th thru July 30th will see their classroom assignment posting at our PreK and Grade 1-6 Meet and Greet day starting at 8:00am. This posting will also be available for reference August 3rd and August 4th when school starts.
PreK, Grade 1-6 Meet and Greet- Students in PreK, and Grade 1-6 will have an opportunity to get a preview of their classroom, meet the classroom teacher, and drop off their supplies during our annual Meet and Greet Day. This event will last between 8:00am and 9:00am on July 31st. However, students must be completely registered before participating.
ASYMCA After School SY26-27- With summer just around the corner, ASYMCA is excited to share that enrollment for next year’s Operation Hero program is now open.The program cost remains the same for the 26–27 school year — $165/month with a $50 registration fee. Please use this link to register. Operation Hero registration now includes:
