Guest Speakers

Introducing guest speakers offers students a valuable opportunity to gain firsthand insights into various careers from seasoned industry experts. The CTE department is committed to offering such avenues for career awareness and exploration to our students.

To ensure the safety of our campuses and students, teachers are required to adhere to the following procedure when arranging a guest speaker. Authorization will be granted at the discretion of the CTE director and your campus principal.

Scheduling a Guest Speaker

Step 1: Gather the Required Information

Planning for a guest speaker begins with gathering the required information for submitting a "CTE Guest Speaker Request" ticket through IIQ. You will need the following:

Time and date that the speaker will be on campus
Location address (this will be your campus)
- - In the Notes section at the top of the IIQ request, enter the room location and any logistical considerations
Estimated Registration Costs
- - Leave blank if there are no fees
  - In the event the speaker is charging a fee, you will need to enter the cost and upload an invoice or a screenshot detailing the associated costs
    - - *IMPORTANT REMINDER: We must never obligate Jubilee Academies to any fee or cost without first obtaining a purchase order.
Number of students attending and their grade levels
Names of staff members attending
List of relevant TEKS (please include the full wording; do not just list the number)

Step 2: Submit a "CTE Guest Speaker Request" Ticket in IIQ

Once you have gathered the required information, submit a "CTE Guest Speaker Request" ticket through IIQ. Approval for all guest speakers is at the discretion of the CTE director and your campus principal.
