Purpose: This video will be used for marketing your program with the intention of generating student interest. Your objective is to grab your audience's attention, draw them in, and create the desire to learn more.
Target Audience: Students that may be interested in joining your program (or that might become interested after learning more about it from your video).
Outline Your Vision: Before you start to produce your video, it's a good idea to determine what information you want to convey and how you're going to deliver it. You will find some suggestions below on what information to include. You may also get ideas from watching example videos produced by other districts. You'll find a handful of examples by clicking here, or searching YouTube.
This footage can be used as "b-roll" or "cutaway" footage to provide context to the audience and provide visual interest in the video.
Create a plan to get footage of students working for every project throughout the year.
Produce Your Video: With your outline complete, you should have a clear vision of what video footage you need to produce. The following are a few things to consider during this process.
Audio and Video Quality: The quality of your audio and video will have a major impact on the final product. Every campus has access to a DSLR camera, tripod, and lighting. The mic on the camera is not ideal, but can be used if necessary. Get with your Arts, A/V program instructors for assistance.
Post-Production/Editing: Edit your footage into a finished product. For those of you with limited time or experience, Ted McCormick is available to help. If you would like Ted to complete the post-production process for you, please email your video footage, photos, etc. by the deadlines listed below.
Email Deadline for Fall Submission: October 27th, 2023
Upload Your Video: For those of you that are completing your own post-production/editing, please upload your final product to the Google Drive folder linked below, and email confirmation to Ted and Bernardo.
