State Competition Rules and Guidelines
Eligibility
In order to be eligible to participate in the SkillsUSA Texas Leadership and Skills Conference, a student(s) must qualify for state advancement at the district level. The students' advisor(s) will attend the state conference with their qualified students.
Students and advisors that did not qualify for advancement at the district level must first receive expressed, written consent from the CTE Director to register for the state conference.
Permission/Medical Release Forms
All students attending the SkillsUSA Texas Leadership and Skills Conference must complete and return a permission slip and medical release form, signed by their parent/guardian.

Parent Information Packet
Teachers must provide an information packet to parents detailing travel groups, advisor names and phone numbers, hotel information, room assignments, and a conference itinerary. It is a best practice to meet with parents in person to review this information and answer any questions or concerns.

Dining/Restaurant Guidelines
Daily Allowances
A maximum daily allowance per student will be established by the CTE Director for each meaI during your trip. It is the responsibility of the advisor(s) to ensure that the maximum daily allowance per student is not exceeded. This is not a running balance. Once you've paid for a meal, you may not use any "leftover" funds for another purchase.
Approved Dining Establishments
The following list of restaurants are approved by the district. No other establishments may be visited during your school sanctioned trip unless expressed, written permission is granted by the CTE Director.

Curfew
SkillsUSA enforces an 11:00 pm curfew. All students must be in their designated hotel rooms for the night by 11:00 pm.
Supervision
Advisors must be with their students at all times outside of the hotel.
Receipts and Taxes
Save all receipts for hotel, dining, fuel, and any other expenses paid on a Jubilee FSP card. It is a best practice to take a photo of the receipt immediately upon receiving it and upload it to the appropriate Google Drive folder.
Jubilee Academies is a tax-exempt organization, and therefore, all transactions involving a Jubilee FSP card must be tax-free. Provide the following form to business to ensure a tax-free transaction.
Prohibited Activities
Non-SkillsUSA Sponsored Activities
Any activity that is not officially sponsored by SkillsUSA is strictly prohibited.
Beach
Visiting the beach is strictly prohibited. Swimming in the ocean is especially prohibited. Please do NOT take students to the beach.
*Students may swim at the hotel pool, provided that they are properly supervised by a chaperone.
Dining
Dining at restaurants not on the approved list is strictly prohibited.
Age Appropriate Activities
Please take care to ensure that all activities students engage in are age appropriate throughout the entire duration of the trip.
