Language Arts: 

• Learning Targets :  This week we discuss Ha's relationships with her family and the growing tension Ha's family experiences as the war grows closer to home.

Bible: 

Learning Targets:

This week in Bible, we will study the book of Job.  This will not be a "regular" study of Job.  This unit will cover Job through the lens of justice and restoration.   We will look specifically at how Job and his friends searched for justice and how God helped restore His kingdom through Job.

Science:

Learning Targets: 

This week in science, we will continue our unit on Gravity and Kinetic Energy. This week, we will stray away from our speed tracks and begin to focus more largely on forces and gravity. We will discuss the gravity on earth and compare it to other planets, learning how it affects our day-to-day life.

Social Studies: This week we will continue our study of Ancient Sumer by reading and evaluating the Code of Hammurabi.  We will also read portions of the Epic of Gilgamesh and compare that story to the flood story found in Genesis.  Finally, we will do a short assignment that will reiterate the basics of Sumerian civilization.

Math: 

Learning Targets: 

In the upcoming week  students we will learn how to add and subtract integers and rational numbers.
