Learning Targets: This week we will continue to explore mixtures and solutions.  We will specifically look at answering the questions of :

What is the process to develop a model?

What is the difference between melting and dissolving?

We will start to review for our Test coming up next week.

Learning Targets: This week we will explore the settlement areas of the Native Americans. Where did they settle? Why did they choose to settle there?

Project: Native American Cultural Region Presentation 

Reading/Writing:  Students will take the Reading NWEA (MAP) test on Monday and Wednesday. On the other days this week, we will continue our shared reading unit on the book Dash, a story about a young Japanese American girl named Mitsi living who is sent to an internment camp during WWII and is separated from her dog, Dash. This story explores themes of prejudice and resilience, which we will discuss as we read the book together.

Band: Full band on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday this week. We will continue to dive into page 7 of the red book! Encourage your child to bring their instrument home, to not only complete their band checkup, but to show you what they have learned in class! Consistent completion of the band checkups each week is the best way to grow on your instrument!
