Learning Targets:  We will be discussing how to add and subtract mixed numbers with different denominators.   On Thursday, the students will be taking the Standardized Delta Test.

What is the difference between melting and dissolving?

Learning Targets: This week we will explore the settlement areas of the Native Americans. Where did they settle? Why did they choose to settle there?

Project: Native American Cultural Region Presentation 

Reading/Writing:  This week, we will continue our shared reading unit on the book Dash, a story about a young Japanese American girl named Mitsi living who is sent to an internment camp during WWII and is separated from her dog, Dash. This story explores themes of prejudice and resilience, which we will discuss as we read the book together.

Band: Band Checkups from 8/31 are due on Wednesday 9/9 this week due to the long weekend and the middle school mixer. Full band on Wednesday and Friday this week. We will continue to dive into page 7 of the red book! Encourage your child to bring their instrument home, to not only complete their band checkup, but to show you what they have learned in class! Band Checkup number 3 is due on 9/14 and worth 3 points due to the shortened week.
