Osteomyelitis
Infection of bone or bone marrow that may be caused by bacteria introduced by trauma or surgery. However, it is more commonly the result of an infection from a contiguous source such as a diabetic foot ulcer.
Osteopetrosis
Abnormally dense bone. It commonly occurs as a result of fracture of affected bone and may lead to obliteration of the marrow space. It is also known as marble bone.
Multiple Myeloma
Most common primary cancerous vone tumor. Generally affects persons between the ages of 40-70 years. These tumors accur in various parts of the body, arising from one marrow or marrow plasma cells. There not exclusivley bone tumors. Highly malignant and are usually fatal within a few years. Radiographic appearance is multiple punched out osteolytic lesions.
