The survey is where a technician gathers data about a homeowner’s structural integrity and roof. Our surveys are conducted with the use of equipment to take images of the entire property and potential obstructions to sunlight for the property.
The survey is necessary to provide accurate measurements and shade analysis data to create sales proposals and preliminary designs. Survey data will determine what percentage of a home’s electricity can be provided going solar. The survey also will determine if the home is structurally sound enough to support the construction of a photovoltaic (PV) system.
The survey scheduling team determines the most efficient route for the surveyor to maximize their schedule. Then, the surveyor arrives at the home at the scheduled time to completely initiate the survey.
The contract must be signed, the customer must be approved, and the home must be within the *Company jurisdiction. The homeowner should be home, though not always required.
After the surveyor collects the required data listed below via equipment and will upload it to a shared drive for the preliminary design team.
The dimension of the eligible roof plans - the surveyor will record the length, width and all vertical axises of each roof plane.
Shade analysis - the surveyor will determine the number of sunlight hours available on each roof plane throughout the year.
Complete structural analysis - the surveyor will inspect the structural integrity of the roof.
Thousands of dollars of time, energy and resources of the sales team, survey scheduling team, survey team and management.
End Result: Roof measurements taken, surveyor goes on roof, sunlight readings collected, structural data collected. This is done by the Site Surveyor and the data is uploaded to a shared drive for the Design team to use in making a preliminary design. The Sales Consultant should be in attendance during this, further building rapport with the Homeowner and present more data on the product so they are more educated and likely to proceed with the purchase.
